Overview
Coconut sugar is tapped daily from the flower bud of the coconut palm, then reduced over low heat with no additives or refining — a process that keeps its low glycemic index and mineral content intact, unlike cane sugar. We source from smallholder tappers across Java and Sulawesi, work in both fine granule and traditional block form, and can arrange organic certification for buyers who need it. This is an active, currently-exported line, not a pre-launch product.

FAQ
Organic-certified coconut sugar typically costs more due to certified-farm sourcing, audit costs, and smaller lot sizes, but buyers targeting health-food, natural-grocery, or premium retail channels usually recoup that premium through shelf positioning — the certification itself is a purchasing trigger for that segment.
Coconut sugar is tapped from the coconut palm's flower bud, while palm sugar (gula aren) is tapped from the Arenga or Palmyra palm — different botanical sources with similar production methods. Coconut sugar generally has a milder caramel flavor and a more consistent global supply chain, which is why it dominates export demand.
At minimum, ask for a Certificate of Analysis per shipment and Certificate of Origin. For premium retail or health-food channels, look for USDA Organic or EU Organic certification specifically on the coconut sugar lot (not just the exporter's general status), plus BPOM registration if the buyer is importing into Indonesia's own region for re-export.
